On July 28, 2017, the 7-day Arts and Crafts Exhibition and Trade Fair was grandly opened in the airport exhibition hall of Shanxi Benmingnian Cultural and Creative Co., Ltd. With the theme of "Strengthening Primary Enterprises, Enlarging Industries, and Revitalizing Arts and Crafts", the exhibition is hosted by the Urban and Rural Collective Industrial Association of city and county levels as well as the Municipal Arts and Crafts Association. The exhibition has 5 exhibition halls with a total area of about 1,500 square meters. More than 5,000 products in 15 series are exhibited, including masterpieces from national and provincial masters as well as award-winning products.
LIU Zhihong, secretary of the Yuncheng Municipal Committee, and ZHU Peng, the mayor, and leaders of the four major groups of the city successively visited the exhibition. Secretary LIU Zhihong complimented each artistic works on its delicacy, highlighting that Yuncheng enjoys great advantages in intangible cultural heritage. He further pointed out that this industry plays an important role in providing more job opportunities and alleviating poverty in Yuncheng.
LI Ronggang, director of the Provincial-City Association and Chairman of the Provincial Art and Design Association, visited the exhibition. He fully affirmed the outstanding achievements of the arts and crafts industry in Yuncheng, and put forward valuable opinions on technology inheritance, product design, industrial development, exchanges and cooperation, and so on.
Mayor ZHU Peng pointed out that the development of the arts and crafts industry is of great significance to the promotion of the excellent traditional culture of Hedong. Yuncheng should prepare a permanent and fixed exhibition venue as soon as possible, and build a cultural "golden" business card based on ancient Chinese elements. More importantly, it will also promotes the integrated development of the cultural tourism industry in Yuncheng.
